Most experiences are ineffable; they happen in a space where no word has ever been spoken. And yet, there are words that connect people over time and shape their lives to have an inextricable connection. The journey of three men, partly dancing into the unknown, partly searching for meaning.

​​Olteanu enters the forest as if it were a performative space, using its meditative environmental value to reconnect with nature, the self, the (own) body. In this way, human nature enters a symbiosis with the textures of the trees, where the poetic value of the image enhances the inner peace or turmoil of the characters. The image does not focus only on illustrating the humanistic text that is read in the voice-over. Sometimes it only focuses on creating the context of its expression, thus focusing on the audio-visual experience. As in any deserted forest, the sound of words rings heavier, and produces a hum that rings both outside and inside the body. (Daria Barbu)

MARIUS OLTEANU

Marius Olteanu, a graduate of UNATC Bucharest and FEMIS, is the director and screenwriter of several short films, fiction and documentaries features, that were selected in various international festivals. Both in photography and in cinema, Olteanu aims to follow the human mechanisms of understanding and of overcoming difficult moments or experiences. His 2019 debut feature, „Monsters.”,

ERAM SOMNAMBUL CÂND AM VĂZUT TOATE ACELE CULORI

Inspired by Derek Jarman's Section 28 installation, the film compares stories from a recent history of the Romanian queer community with current personal experiences, linking them to lyrical observations about a still hidden present, a distillation of the distance between the silent realities of queer love and the hysteria of its public representation.
